Some links on HomeBuild Atlas are affiliate links: if you click one and make a purchase, we may earn a commission at no additional cost to you. This disclosure explains how that works, in plain language, consistent with FTC guidance (16 CFR Part 255).

What we link to

When a guide mentions a product category - say, non-woven geotextile fabric, a plate compactor rental, or a laser level - we may link to retailers that sell it. We link to product types our content genuinely calls for; we don't invent product mentions to place links.

What affiliate money never touches

Calculator results are pure math and contain no sponsored placement. Waste factors, densities, and formulas are set by our methodology, not by what earns commissions. Guides recommend the right material for the job even when no affiliate program exists for it.

Identifying affiliate links

Assume that any link to a retailer or manufacturer may be an affiliate link. Editorial links - to standards bodies, government safety resources, and our own pages - are never monetized.
